Us
Lawrences was founded in Sevenoaks, Kent in 1959.
The company is now a division of the Swinton Group but still offers genuinely unbiased advice to
both small and medium sized enterprises as well as to individuals.
Having been in the centre of Sevenoaks for such a long time,
we have become the longest standing broker of our kind in the
region. Although many of our clients themselves are based locally
(i.e. London and the SE/home counties), through merger and acquisition,
we now cover most parts of the UK. With a staff of 20 experienced
and well-qualified brokers and support personnel we aim to provide
the highest quality insurance advice. Our experts strive to
understand your requirements and those of your business and
are therefore able to advise on effective insurance solutions.
This also involves matters relating to Health and Safety, which
are intrinsically linked to the insurance industry.
Legislation Issues and Professional Education/Training Standards
Our work is regulated by the Financial Services Authority and
we believe in the need for and benefits of effective regulation
whether voluntary or compulsory. All staff are required to undergo
an in-house training program and take as a minimum, the Foundation
Insurance Test (FIT). We actively encourage participation in
the continuance of professional education and qualification
through The Chartered Insurance Institute.
The Future
With a growing number of brokers/intermediaries merging into
larger businesses and thus losing touch with core business needs,
we see a great opportunity in remaining local and faithful
to our established client criteria by expanding the time spent
with the customers through the effective and meaningful employment
of professional technicians, by investing in up to date technology
and methods, whilst at the same time keeping abreast of the
many changes affecting the Financial Sector of the UK economy.
